SPIRAL
A reverse roguelike about the struggle of gambling addiction. Every spin of the slot machine grants an immediate advantage but permanently weakens the player, making survival increasingly difficult. The only way to escape is to resist temptation.I designed the combat and gameplay mechanics, progression system, and three symbolic boss fights representing self-judgment, abstinence, and addiction itself. We developed Spiral in Unity (3D) as an experimental take on roguelike mechanics with a psychological theme. We made it in just two weeks for a game jam and won an award.
Salt-Peter and the Philosopher's Stone
A tile based puzzle stealth game about an alchemist that got robbed his precious philosopher's stone amongst other useful magical items and has to get them back from the shadow world. We used Unity (3D).
I directed the project, designed all the 12 puzzle levels and designed also all the other aspects of the game.It was our entry to the "Pirate Software 15th game-jam", and we ended getting a 5 star rating in all the categories.
Paraules a Mida
A mobile puzzle and shop simulation game where players manage a magical shop, crafting custom words for clients and building a Catalan dictionary. The game blends word puzzles with resource management mechanics in a cozy and whimsical setting.
I was the main designer for the project, responsible for all aspects of game design, including the shop management systems, the unique word-crafting mechanics, and the puzzle-based client interactions. The game was developed as part of a game jam, completed within a limited timeframe. Also made with Unity (3D).
A game jam-winning video game made with Unity about how the echoes of voices affect the mind of a protagonist suffering from bullying. It has a simple parry mechanic that allows the player to return the echoes to the enemies.I participated as a narrative and gameplay designer and provided support programming. I also designed the main level of the game.It was my first game jam and we put in an incredible effort and ended up winning the Best Game award.
Thank's Monster!
My second game jam video game (which also received an award for best art) is a special platformer with stunning artwork, diverse mechanics, and a humorous and engaging narrative.I served as the main designer and gained valuable experience in level design, as well as improving my skills in gameplay design. The main mechanic of the game involves a nightmare that pursues the player until the end of the level. Once there, the player has to pick up a dreamcatcher and chase the nightmare back before it escapes.Designing the platform levels to be playable and smooth in both directions was challenging, but I believe I achieved a good result. This game was also made with Unity.
Timmy and the Corrupted Dreamland
A tactical-RPG that tells a story where classic tales have never been so DARK. It's a big project I formed part of, we were a team of 8, called Electronic Farts.I designed the combat system and some skills of the 6 characters. And, on the side of the "RPG designer role", I designed and made the logic behind: inventory, party system and the lvl up system. I also designed 3 levels. We had to work with our own SDL engine, so we had huge limitations and since this was my first "big" videogame it has a lot of design and code flaws but overall I think it is a great game that I am proud of.
This video game is the largest project I've participated in so far. Our team of 35 talented artists, programmers and designers developed it in just FOUR MONTHS. I meticulously developed gameplay mechanics, including the extraction method, player combat, and systems for inventory, crafting, loot, and enemy drops. I learned to have effective cross-departmental communication, embraced diverse ideas, and understood project limitations. Additionally, I conducted playtesting to gather feedback, ensuring our game is fun. Since it was made with our own 3D engine this project was a challenging and rewarding experience, and I am proud of our team and the final outcome.

My name is Xavi Prats Paredes, I was born in december 2002, so i'm 22 years old (I do the math so you don't have to). I'm from Terrassa, a city near Barcelona, Spain. I kinda look like the guy on the photo. I'm currently studing a degree in video game design and development at CITM (Centre de la Imatge i la Tecnologia Multimèdia).I've always loved playing video games, but there's only one thing I love just as much: creating them.In the industry of game development, I've found something that allows me to fuse my creativity and technical skills into something I can be proud about.
